Galatasaray new boy Victor Osimhen has asked for his ‘good-luck’ shirt number at his new club in Turkey.

As revealed, the Nigeria Super Eagles forward opted to go for Jersey number 45 instead of the 99 that was proposed.

This will not be the first time Osimhen will be putting on a 45 shirt number at the back of his jersey.

During his time of struggle with Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga, the forward secured a loan move to Belgian side Charleroi which marked a turning point in his career.

He was handed the number 45 in Charleroi which he used to revive his career after a turbulent time in Germany.

Following his exploit at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup where he scored 10 goals in just seven matches, Osimhen was snapped up by German side Wolfsburg.

Following in the footsteps of former U-17 champion and highest goal scorer Chrisantus Macauley who joined Hamburg in 2007 after scoring seven goals in seven matches as Nigeria went on to win the championship.

Osimhen did not have the time he wished for in Germany and later secured a loan move to Charleroi in the Belgian Pro league.

Osimhen was handed the opportunity to prove himself and he did perfectly well after scoring 19 goals with four assists in 34 matches before being signed by French side Lille.

At Charleroi, he wore the jersey number 45 which marked the turning point in his career, the same number he will be wearing at Galatasaray.

Osimhen Agrees to a one-year loan deal with Galatasaray after a turbulent transfer window and has regained the joy he requires while playing football.
