African Footballer of the year, Victor Osimhen’s summer transfer to French side Paris Saint-Germain is getting more difficult as both clubs are worlds apart in terms of valuation of the player.
Osimhen in the summer of 2023 put pen to paper for a new and improved deal that took his release clause to €120 million.
After helping Napoli win their first league title in over 50 years, Osimhen was one of the most sought after trikers in Europe but the demands are getting cool with the current financial fair play laws.
With recent injury concerns and his little drop on form last season when Napoli struggled, scoring just 15 goals, several clubs have resigned their interest in the forward. But French giants Paris Saint-Germain are in pole position to land the Africa heavyweight but consider Napoli’s valuation too high.
PSG are willing to offer fees in excess of €80 million as reported but Napoli are holding out for €90 million plus Kang-In Lee but the French side believes their €80 million offer is enough.
Despite having played in the Ligue with Lille, Osimhen believes his return to France could be positive considering the project PSG offers.
