In a significant crackdown on cybercrime, Osun State Police Command raided an undisclosed hotel in the early hours of today, June 8, 2024, arresting 18 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud.

The police executed a well-coordinated operation, storming the hotel in the dead hours of the night. The suspects, all of whom are believed to be engaged in various forms of online scams, were caught off-guard and taken into custody without incident.

During the raid, the police confiscated several laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic devices believed to have been used in the fraudulent activities.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were involved in romance scams, phishing, and other forms of online fraud targeting individuals both locally and internationally.

The suspects are currently being held at the Osun State Police Command Headquarters, where they are undergoing further questioning.
