A big political shift has occurred in Kano State as more than 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have officially joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
This mass defection occurred in the Tofa and Ghari local government areas, where the new members have pledged their allegiance to the Kwankwasiyya Movement, spearheaded by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The newly inducted NNPP members were warmly received by Dr. Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, the state party chairman, during a ceremony held at both locations.
The event also served as the launch of the NNPP’s campaign for the upcoming local government elections, signaling a strategic move in the political landscape.
Among the attendees were NNPP candidates for the elections, Yakubu Ibrahim Adis from Tofa and Hashimu Mai Sabulu from Ghari.
Both candidates expressed optimism about the party’s expanding influence in the region, particularly with the recent surge in membership.
