The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has stated that attacks and criticism are inevitable, whether one is rich or poor.
Speaking during the October Holy Ghost Service at Redemption Camp, Pastor Adeboye addressed the controversy surrounding Bishop David Oyedepo’s recent gift of a Rolls Royce.
He noted that many have expressed outrage, questioning how a bishop could own such a luxurious car. “Let me tell you, my beloved children,” Adeboye said, “if you die poor, people will blame you, saying, ‘After all these years of serving God, this is how you end up.’
If you’re unable to pay your rent, they’ll ask, ‘Where is your God?’ On the other hand, if you begin to ride in a Rolls Royce, they will criticize you for that as well.”
Pastor Adeboye emphasized that criticism is unavoidable regardless of whether one lives in poverty or abundance. “They will find a reason to attack you anyway,” he remarked.
