The Oyo State Government plans to recruit 791 new civil servants to bolster its mainstream service.
This announcement was made by Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, during a press briefing in Ibadan on Wednesday. He revealed that the recruitment will include 230 education officers and 561 other positions, marking the largest intake for the civil service in the past 20 years.
Aderibigbe outlined the application process, stating that prospective candidates can apply through the state government’s job portal at www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng from October 7 to October 11. He emphasized that this online application system aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and equity throughout the recruitment process.
He provided additional details regarding eligibility, noting that applicants for positions requiring a degree must hold a minimum of a second-class honours from a university, while those applying for Higher National Diploma positions should have a lower credit from a polytechnic.
All candidates must also possess either a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate at the time of recruitment.
Furthermore, for positions that require the Nigeria Certificate in Education, candidates must have graduated with at least a merit pass. Aderibigbe assured the public that the commission would maintain high standards of competence in its operations, free from political influence.
