The Oyo State Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) announced on Friday in Ibadan that it has revised the Computer-Based Test (CBT) time-table for prospective applicants.
This adjustment comes in response to a planned nationwide protest by some Nigerians, which may begin on Wednesday.
Mr. Akinade Alamu, the TESCOM chairman, disclosed the revised time-table while speaking with newsmen. The CBT, initially scheduled to take place between Monday and Friday, has now been compressed to a three-day period from July 29 to July 31.
“To forestall any unforeseen circumstance, TESCOM and its partnering agencies, including the management of the Distance Learning Centre (DLC) at the University of Ibadan, agreed to compress the examination to three days,” Alamu explained.
The chairman assured applicants that the adjustment will not pose any threat, as the management of DLC has agreed to provide more halls, computers, and other facilities to accommodate the revised schedule.
Alamu appealed to candidates to check their phones regularly for texts regarding the adjustment of the timetable, which have been sent to their phones and email addresses.
He noted that the specific examination date and time for each applicant can be accessed through the job portal dedicated to the exercise.
It was reported that 62,000 applicants will participate in the examination, with 12,000 applying for non-teaching jobs and 50,000 for teaching positions.
