The Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced that the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the ongoing recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff for secondary schools in Oyo State will take place from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 2, 2024.

TESCOM Chairman Pastor Akinade Alamu shared this update during a press conference held at the TESCOM Conference room in Ibadan. Pastor Alamu revealed that 62,000 applicants were registered through the online application process to participate in the CBT. Of these, 50,000 applied for teaching positions, while 12,000 applied for non-teaching roles.

Highlighting Governor Seyi Makinde’s dedication to education, Alamu noted that the recruitment exercise is essential to fill gaps in secondary schools, despite a similar exercise conducted four years ago.

The commission has established an inter-ministerial committee involving the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Establishment, Office of the Head of Service, and Ministry of Finance to oversee the recruitment process.

Emphasizing the commission’s commitment to a fair and transparent exercise, Pastor Alamu urged applicants to rely on official information.

He announced that individual exam dates and times are now available, and applicants should visit the TESCOM portal to print their CBT Examination Slips, which must include their names, photos, and examination details. These slips are mandatory for entry into the examination hall.

Applicants were advised to adhere strictly to the specified dates and times to avoid confusion, and loitering around the examination center will not be tolerated.

The CBT will be conducted at the University of Ibadan (UI) Distance Learning Centre (DLC) Computer Based Testing Centre in Ajibode, Ibadan. Pastor Alamu highlighted the center’s proven track record in handling such exercises.

Successful candidates from the CBT will be required to attend an oral interview before the committee.

Pastor Alamu also mentioned that TESCOM has made comprehensive arrangements for security, healthcare services, including a standby ambulance, as well as tents and chairs to ensure a smooth CBT process from start to finish.
