The Super Falcons of Nigeria fell to a 1-0 loss to Brazil at their opening game of the 2024 summer Olympics.

The game which took place in Bordeaux had Nigeria record a back-to-back defeat against Brazil both coming in Olympics games.

The last time both teams met was at the Rio Olympics where Brazil also defeated Nigeria but with a bigger goal margin.

Despite the defeat, Nigerians and football lovers are full of praise for captain Rasheedat Ajibade.

The Atletico Madrid forward was torn in the flesh for the Brazilians as she was running down the wings, creating chances and lacking the finishing touches for Nigeria.

However, Gabi Nines’ first half strike was enough for Brazil to open their Olympics account in the female category with a win.
