A pastor named Isa Andrew, who serves at the All Saints Police Protestant Church in Gusau, along with his 13-year-old daughter, Grace, are currently being held by suspected terrorists. In a video lasting nearly three minutes, Pastor Andrew and Grace have made a desperate plea to Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, and to all Nigerians, asking for help to secure their freedom.
The video, released by their captors, sets a harsh deadline: if an additional sum of six million naira, two boxer motorcycles, and one Honda motorcycle is not provided by next Thursday, Grace, the pastor’s young daughter, will be forced into marriage by the terrorists.
Pastor Andrew and Grace were abducted from their home near the Karma Hotel in Gusau on July 14th, 2024. They have now been in captivity for nearly a month, enduring terrible conditions. The pastor shared that his family had already managed to raise and pay a ransom of six million naira by selling all their possessions and with help from kind-hearted individuals. However, the terrorists are still demanding more—six million naira and the three motorcycles—before they will release them.
The pastor, clearly distressed, revealed that his daughter has been subjected to harsh treatment during their time in captivity. He is now pleading for urgent assistance, particularly from the First Lady, to ensure their safe return. Adding to the dire situation, Pastor Andrew mentioned that he suffers from diabetes, and the poor living conditions in captivity are seriously worsening his health.
Initially, the terrorists demanded a ransom of 60 million naira, but after negotiations, they agreed to accept six million. Despite this payment, the captors continue to press for more, leaving the pastor and his daughter in an agonizing and uncertain situation.
