The Kebbi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vehemently condemned the recent bandit attack on the Mera Community in Augie Local Government Area, labeling the event as both tragic and distressing.
State Chairman Alhaji Usman Bello Suru expressed deep condolences on behalf of the Working Committee, Party Elders, and the State Working Committee, extending sympathies to the State Government, Argungu Emirate Council, and the Augie Local Government Council following the attack that resulted in the loss of 15 lives last Friday.
In a related statement, the PDP urged the Kebbi State Government to cease using public funds for what they described as “frivolous foreign trips,” which have offered minimal returns for the state.
Instead of seeking financial aid from nations grappling with their own economic issues, the PDP proposed that the government allocate these resources towards creating a more conducive environment for sustainable investments in Kebbi State.
The party recommended directing funds to the establishment and enhancement of Free Trade Zones, International Border Markets, and revitalizing industries within the Bulasa Industrial Layout.
Highlighting the importance of impactful local investments, the PDP urged the state government to prioritize initiatives that would promote long-term economic growth, stability, and job creation for the people of Kebbi.
