The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its condolences to the residents of Sokoto State following the tragic deaths and injuries inflicted on civilians during a military airstrike aimed at targeting terrorists in Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa villages within the Silame Local Government Area.

In light of the reports surrounding this unfortunate incident, the PDP has called for an immediate and comprehensive investigation to ensure the protection and safety of civilians during counter-terrorism operations across the nation.

In a statement released by PDP spokesman Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party highlighted previous occurrences where civilians were similarly affected, referencing incidents in Kaduna State in December 2023 and September 2024. The PDP emphasized the necessity of implementing measures to prevent such tragedies from reoccurring.

The party extended its sympathies to the families of the victims and urged the Federal Government to take prompt action to provide compensation for those who lost their lives and to facilitate proper medical care for those injured.
