The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Mr. Asue Ighodalo, has made a firm commitment to the residents of the state, vowing not to disappoint them if elected.
Speaking at Uromi, the administrative headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Area, Ighodalo received a significant boost as Alhaji Musa Isiwele, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and over 3,000 others defected to the ruling PDP.
Ighodalo, addressing the enthusiastic crowd, expressed his determination to uplift Edo State to a first-world sub-national level within Nigeria. He assured the people that he possesses a clear vision and concrete plans to achieve this goal.
Recognizing the abundant human and natural resources in Edo State, Ighodalo emphasized the potential for creating a state that would make its citizens proud and attract the return of those in the diaspora.
The event witnessed the presence of prominent party members, including Chief Tom Ikimi, Chief Anthony Aziegbemin, Chief Matthew Iduoriyemkewen, Senator Odion Ugbesia, Hon Maria Edeko, Dr. Kelly Inedegbor, Hon Louis Imhandegbelo, and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, who is the brother of the PDP governorship candidate.
The deflection of Alhaji Musa Isiwele and his followers was met with enthusiasm, as they pledged their full support, actively campaigning for Ighodalo and ensuring his victory on September 21.
The PDP Legacy Group and the Anenihs, both influential factions within the party, declared that Esan North East Local Government is firmly in support of the PDP.
The Chief Imam of Uromi expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki for his consistent support to the Muslim community and urged the people to reciprocate by voting for the PDP and Ighodalo.
