The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sanctioned the establishment of a 19-member Caretaker Committee for the Ekiti State chapter, tasked with overseeing its operations.
This announcement was made by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in a statement released on Friday. He indicated that the formation of the caretaker committee comes in response to the conclusion of the tenure of the previous Ekiti State Executive Committee.
Ologunagba clarified that the NWC formed the caretaker committee on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee, in accordance with Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP constitution. The committee’s mandate is set for a duration not exceeding 90 days, or until the election of a new Executive Committee.
The leadership of the caretaker committee will be spearheaded by Chief Dare Adeleke as Chairman and Hon. Olatunji Dele Ayofe as Secretary. The committee comprises several notable members, including Hon. Ayodele Joshua, Mr. Agbetuyi Sunday Joshua, Hon. Olonila Ojo Benjamin, Mrs. Mojisola Omotosho, Hon. Ojo Ayeni, Rt. Hon. Abeni Olayinka, Hon. Ademola Alade, and Hon. Afolayan Akutupu.
Additionally, Hon. Bobby Jeje, Rt. Hon. Sina Animashaun, Hon. Araromi Akindele Samuel, Hon. Festus Idowu Akinbode, and Hon. Ade Fajana are included as members. Further appointments to the committee feature Barr. Ayo Oguntuase, Hon. Olanipekun Boboye, Hon. Adebayo Jackson, and Hon. Ojo Fasasi. Asabo Ayodeji Victor has been designated as the Administrative Secretary of the caretaker committee.
In conclusion, the NWC has urged all party leaders, significant stakeholders, and members within Ekiti State to maintain unity and collaborate for the advancement of the party’s objectives.
