The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lauded the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, as an exemplary and unwavering member of the party.

This commendation was made by the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, during a book launch dedicated to honoring Wike.

Arapaja highlighted that, despite facing internal challenges within the party, notably from members exhibiting an “entitlement mentality,” Wike continues to garner admiration and respect from his peers.

He remarked, “Our mentor and principal, who has remained steadfastly with the PDP, is among the most dedicated and loyal leaders we have ever known. He has performed admirably, continues to do so, and we extend our best wishes for his future endeavors.”

Arapaja praised Wike’s unwavering commitment to advocating for equity, justice, and fairness, noting his significant role within the G5 group and his consistent support for fellow party members.

In contrast, he pointed out that some leaders only engage with the party when in need of assistance, thereby reaffirming Wike’s integrity and dedication to the party’s principles.

“We recognize you and hold you in high regard. While some may subscribe to an entitlement mentality, we will perpetually support you because you embody integrity, honor, and effectiveness,” Arapaja stated.

The PDP official also addressed recent criticisms leveled against the party by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Arapaja expressed his dismay regarding Akpabio’s disparaging comments, emphasizing that the Senate President, who previously served as Governor of Akwa Ibom State under the PDP, owes a significant portion of his political success to the party.

“The PDP serves as the foundation for all political parties. It is perplexing to witness an individual, who has benefited from the PDP, speak negatively about it,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Arapaja acknowledged Akpabio’s accomplishments during his tenure as governor under the PDP, stating, “It is undeniable that the current Senate President excelled during his time in office as governor under the PDP.”
