The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has firmly stated that it will not permit any irregularities to mar the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State, scheduled for November 16.
Umar Damagum, the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, expressed confidence that the people of Ondo are set to use their votes to remove the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.
Speaking in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, Damagum criticized the APC for the hardship it has inflicted on Nigerians. He remarked, “There are no good roads, and hunger is rampant throughout the land.”
He emphasized, “Now is your chance to transform the situation and rid our state of hunger, poverty, and insecurity.”
Damagum endorsed Agboola Ajayi as a seasoned candidate capable of delivering meaningful governance to the people of Ondo State. He accused the APC of severely affecting the populace, stating, “They are thieves who have nearly ruined everyone. What transpired in Edo will not happen here. Everyone must come out and support Agboola Ajayi and his running mate.”
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and proactive, declaring, “We will liberate ourselves from the chains of poverty and hunger. There is no crisis within the PDP. Those attempting to incite discord are trying to establish a one-party state, but the PDP will stand against that.”
