Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has offered his heartfelt congratulations to John Azuta-Mbata following his election as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading socio-cultural organization for the Igbo people.
In his message, Obi encouraged Azuta-Mbata and the newly elected executive committee of Ohanaeze to prioritize the promotion of peace and unity across Nigeria.
Azuta-Mbata, who represents Rivers State, was elected to his new role during an election held over the weekend in Enugu State.
In his post on X, Obi expressed, “On behalf of my family and the Obidient movement, I extend my congratulations to the newly elected President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, as well as the Deputy President-General, Prince Okey Nwadinobi, the Secretary-General, Emeka Sibeudu, and the rest of the newly appointed executive members. Their leadership of this esteemed organization reflects the trust and optimism that the people place in their capabilities and dedication to advancing both the region and the nation.”
