Bashir Ahmed, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has asserted that Peter Obi possesses greater political stature than Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Ahmed shared his views in a post on the social media platform X, stating, “While I have never been a supporter of the Kwankwasiyya movement, I have always respected Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso as one of the progressive voices in our political landscape.”

However, he expressed disagreement with Kwankwaso’s recent remarks during an interview in Kano, where the senator claimed to be politically more significant than Obi.

Referencing the outcomes of the 2023 presidential election, Ahmed pointed out that Obi received 6,101,533 votes and won in 11 states, indicating substantial national backing. In contrast, Kwankwaso garnered 1,496,687 votes, achieving victory in only one state, Kano.

“These figures clearly indicate that, at least regarding the 2023 election, Peter Obi wields considerably more political influence throughout the country,” he concluded, affirming that “Peter Obi is indeed politically larger than Rabiu Kwankwaso.”
