Continuing his efforts to connect with Nigerians living abroad and driven by his commitment to lead the movement for a revitalized Nigeria, Peter Obi, the National Leader of the Labour Party and its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has initiated a three-day tour across three major cities in the United States.
As announced by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Umar, this tour commenced yesterday and will conclude on October 26, 2024, covering Houston, Los Angeles, and Atlanta.
This visit marks the final phase of Obi’s North America Appreciation tour, which previously included stops in Toronto, Boston, New York City, West Orange, Cherry, Dallas, Charlotte, and Detroit.
The primary goal of this tour is to reaffirm Obi’s commitment made during the 2023 campaign to actively engage the Nigerian diaspora, encouraging their involvement in constructive discussions about nation-building and the vision for a new Nigeria.
Obi aims to shift the narrative surrounding political engagement, contrasting his approach with that of previous politicians who often only reach out to the diaspora during election seasons but fail to maintain that connection afterwards.
The tour will feature interactive sessions that will allow Obi to share his vision for a possible new Nigeria, respond to pressing national issues, and engage in a dialogue with attendees.
The former Governor of Anambra State expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support and trust he received from Nigerians both domestically and internationally during the 2023 presidential campaign.
