Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate from the 2023 elections, is set to deliver the convocation lecture at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) this Saturday, coinciding with the institution’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

Ibrahim Umar, spokesperson for Peter Obi Media Reach, noted that this keynote address aligns with Obi’s established practice of addressing prestigious educational institutions worldwide, including prominent universities like Harvard and Yale.

The event will also pay tribute to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the founder of AUN and former Vice-President of Nigeria, recognizing his impactful contributions to education and human development.

In addition to the convocation, the 16th Founder’s Day lecture will showcase AUN’s progress, its community outreach initiatives, and its emergence as one of Nigeria’s leading universities, as reflected in the 2024 Times Higher Education global impact ranking.
