A recently circulated presidential campaign poster for 2027 featuring Peter Obi, the former Labour Party candidate, alongside Bukola Saraki, the ex-Senate President, has been labeled as a “mere product of imagination” by the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR).
Yunusa Tanko, the spokesperson for POMR, clarified the situation, stating, “This is simply a figment of people’s creativity. There are no indications of a presidential campaign, but we are focused on serving the public good.”
The controversial poster, which has gained traction on social media, depicts Saraki as the presidential candidate with Obi as his vice-presidential partner, accompanied by the slogan, “Let’s restore our country back, come 2027.”
It’s important to highlight that neither Saraki nor Obi has made any formal announcement regarding their intentions to run for the presidency in 2027.
Saraki is a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Obi remains affiliated with the Labour Party (LP), having switched from the PDP in the lead-up to the 2023 presidential election.
