Hon. Hitler Pwajok, Special Adviser to Plateau State Governor Bar Caleb Mutfwang on Youth Development, has strongly condemned recent comments made by Ahmed Isah, the leader of the Brekete Family, describing them as biased and derogatory towards Plateau men. Pwajok is demanding an immediate retraction and public apology from Isah.

In a statement, Pwajok expressed outrage over a video circulating on social media in which Isah allegedly labeled Plateau men as lazy. He emphasized that the remarks have sparked widespread condemnation, not only among Plateau men but also among all Nigerians with a conscience and strong moral upbringing.

“As a peace-loving and accommodating state, globally recognized for hard work, intelligence, resilience, honesty, and patriotism, we find Mr. Isah’s comments to be derogatory, stereotypical, misleading, and tantamount to hate speech. We demand an immediate apology,” Pwajok said

He highlighted that Plateau State is a major producer of food crops, significantly contributing to Nigeria’s food security. Pwajok pointed out that Plateau is the largest producer of Irish potatoes in the country, a feat achieved through the hard work of its men and women.

Pwajok also noted that Isah’s remarks insult the accomplishments of notable Plateau natives such as Kelvin Pam, the first Nigerian to win Big Brother in 2009, and football stars like Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, and Mikel Obi. Additionally, he mentioned prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including Jeremiah Gyang, Ice Prince, M.I., and P-Square, as well as innovators like Jerry Mallo, the founder of Bennie Automobile.

“Ahmed’s statement is an affront to the hard-working citizens of Plateau, including those like Mr. David Daser, whose dedication earned him a presidential recommendation and appointment as the President of the Digital Bridge Institute,” Pwajok stated.

He concluded by urging Isah to issue an open apology and warned against hate speech in a nation that should prioritize unity and tolerance, particularly from media personalities.
