The Kogi State Police Command has made significant progress in the ongoing investigation of the kidnapping and murder of Abigail Damilola, a female student of the University of Lokoja.

Four more suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case, bringing the total number of arrests to five, including the prime suspect, Jeremiah Paul, a 100-level Biology student.

According to the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, the suspects were arrested in various locations across the state after thorough intelligence gathering and tip-offs from the public.

The four new suspects are believed to have played key roles in the abduction and subsequent murder of the victim, who was killed despite a ransom of 400,000 naira being paid.

The police revealed that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court once investigations are concluded. The arrest of these additional suspects has heightened the sense of relief within the university community and the larger Lokoja metropolis.

In response to the recent arrests, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the heinous crime are brought to justice. The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
