President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for new appointments to the governing councils of two specialized educational institutions. The institutions in question are the Maritime Academy of Nigeria located in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology situated in Zaria, Kaduna State.

In a statement from Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu expressed his expectation that the new members of these boards will bring integrity and commitment to their roles. Their primary responsibility will be to enhance the infrastructure, academic standards, and overall quality of these institutions.

For the Maritime Academy of Nigeria in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, Kehinde Akinola has been appointed as Chairman. Joining him on the board are Shehu Maigari Doguwa, Samuel Isichei, and Faisal Lawal Halidu. The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria, Kaduna State, will now be chaired by Anthony Manzo, with Ngozi Okuoma, Durungunwa Abdulmalik, Biodun Taiwo, and Florence Toyin Olorunfemi as members.

In a broader move, President Tinubu has also approved new appointments to the governing councils of six federal colleges of education. At the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Yauri, Kebbi State, Ismaila Gadaka will serve as Chairman,

Supported by Abdulhakeem Adegoke, Pam Ishaya, Abubakar Sadique Fakai, and Zara Duamlong Usman. The Federal College of Education (Technical) in Isu, Ebonyi State, will be led by Chairman Mohammed Sani Takori, with Dauda Onipede, Victor Mela Danzaria, Solomon Ayuba, and Mario Eno Owumi.

At the Federal College of Education in Odugbo, Benue State, Baba Alphonsus Homsuk will assume the role of Chairman, with Kayode Ajiboye, Rex Ogbonna, Jude Ngaji, and John Yada Viko on the board.

The Federal College of Education in Jama’are, Bauchi State, will have Aisha Yelwa Ibrahim Tahir as Chairman, with Dorren Ikedi Udechukwu, Brass Yaji, Mustapha Shehu, and Joshua Oludare Adewale joining her.

The Federal College of Education in Gidan Madi, Sokoto State, will see Abdullahi Adamu as Chairman, alongside Olatunji Akinbiyi, Mohammed Adamu Malala, Saleh Musa Audu, and Lami Ehi Oguogho. Finally, the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Benin City, Edo State, will have Tukur Jikamshi as Chairman, with Abdullahi Adamu Loko, Asimiyu Alarape, Abubakar Abubakar Bello, and Christopher Okaeben on the council.

President Tinubu has stressed that these new members are expected to diligently work towards enhancing the educational standards across the federal colleges.

Additionally, the President has also approved appointments to the governing councils of eleven federal universities and tertiary institutions. The Nigerian Maritime University in Okerenkoko, Delta State, will be led by Chairman Temi Harriman, with Adeola Adeogun, Benedict Aguele,

Freeman Kasa, and Babangida Alhassan Abdullahi as members. The Nigerian University of Science and Technology in Abuja will have Rabe Mudi Bala as Chairman, supported by Akinola Fagbemi, Rakiatou Bagnou, Alwel Egwurugu, and Femi Osabinu.

The Federal University of Agriculture in Bassam-Biri, Bayelsa, will be chaired by Bram Baifa, with Richard Odigbo, Yomi Johnson, Fatima Owuna, and Christy Akpehuan Omoruyi joining him. At the Federal University of Health Sciences in Kwale, Delta State, Ahmadu Barau Banye Salisu will serve as Chairman, with Aragbaye Oluwatosin Gbolagunte, Talba Bauchi, Akaninodo Kehinde Adekunle, and Chibuike Ikenga on the board.

The Federal University of Medical Sciences in Katsina State will have Habib Mohammed Ibrahim as Chairman, with Yau Aisha Abdulkadir, Shehu Kaka, Ibrahim Umar Abbah, and Isijola Rasaki joining him. The Federal University of Agriculture in Mubi, Adamawa State, will see Rukayyatu Abdulkareem Gurin as Chairman, alongside Peter Tanko Dogara, Amina Ibrahim Ndala, Owolabi Shamsideen Oseni, and Olufemi Lawson.

For Admiralty University in Ibusa, Delta State, Yusuf Mohammed has been appointed as Chairman, with Sani Ndanusa, Abdul Oroh, Mary Okaba Agbo, and Omasan Agbajoh as members. The Nigeria French Language Village in Badagry, Lagos State, will have Labiru Musa Kafur as Chairman, with Ibitoye Victor Philips, Bamgbose S, Musa Ayas, and Ogenyi Okpokwu Emmanuel on the council.

The National Institute of Nigerian Languages in Aba, Abia State, will be chaired by Victor O. Ukaogo, with Anjare Samuel, David Turuka Ismaila, Adimchinaka Onwukwe, and Ify Ugo Okoye as members. The Nigerian Army University in Biu, Borno State, will have Awal Bawa Morike as Chairman, alongside Mohammed Bashir Umar, Monday Nanza, Mohammed Alhaji Audu, and Sheriff Abdullahi.

The Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta, Ogun State, will be led by Usman Mohammed Shanawa as Chairman, with Kabiru Yahaya, Chinenye Love Moses, Uyiosasere Ekhosuehi, and Joshua Oludare Adewale joining him. The Nigeria Arabic Language Village in Gamboru Ngala, Borno State, will have Ahmed Wambai as Chairman, supported by Gazali Hamza Suleiman, Imam Alfa Rahaman, Isah Kwayami, and Mohammed Ize Mamman.

Finally, the National Mathematical Centre in Sheda, Kwali, FCT, will be chaired by Edna Njoku, with Kovie Andrew Epetutu, Oyinkasola Okewoye, Ibrahim Musa, and Sarah Tukura as members.

President Tinubu has highlighted his expectation that these newly appointed members will fulfill their roles with efficiency and dedication, contributing to the growth and excellence of their respective institutions.
