On Monday, President Bola Tinubu affirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing the transportation needs of Nigerians.

During the inauguration of 30 hybrid CNG buses, a donation from the Depots and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), the President expressed his enthusiasm for this advancement in Abuja.

“It fills me with great joy to accept these buses on behalf of our government, as they signify a major step forward in our transportation system,” he remarked.

He emphasized that harnessing natural gas to fuel the transportation sector is a crucial path forward. “With our abundant gas resources, we need to enhance our productivity and innovation. Embracing CNG vehicles is not just beneficial; it’s an economic imperative we must adopt,” he stated.

President Tinubu acknowledged the pressing concerns of ordinary Nigerians regarding transportation and expressed gratitude to INNOSON Motors and others dedicated to revolutionizing the industry in Nigeria.

“If we enhance our energy competitiveness and implement transformative initiatives like this, we will undoubtedly achieve the prosperity we strive for on behalf of our citizens,” he added.

He pointed out that countries such as India have required the use of CNG in commercial vehicles since 2004. In Nigeria, commercial vehicles account for roughly 80% of petrol consumption, costing the nation trillions of Naira monthly.

“The solution is at hand. We possess the resources, and we are committed to making improvements. We assure you that conditions will improve, and prosperity will be within our reach,” he concluded.
