President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt greetings to Nigerian Muslims as they celebrate Maulud Nabiy, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, this year.

In a statement released on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu encouraged Muslims to take this occasion as a time for profound reflection on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.

“During this Maulud celebration, let us all take a moment to contemplate the virtues embodied in the life of Prophet Muhammad—his purity, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, and compassion. It is essential that we strive to incorporate these qualities into our own lives,” he stated.

Furthermore, President Tinubu urged the Muslim community to dedicate this holiday to praying for the nation’s well-being and to practice empathy and compassion towards one another.

In addition, he expressed his sympathy to the people and government of Zamfara State in light of the recent floods in the Gummi Local Government Area, as well as the tragic loss of over 40 farmers in a boat accident while heading to their fields over the weekend.

Tinubu conveyed the condolences of the Nigerian government and its citizens regarding these unfortunate events affecting the Zamfara community.

He assured support for those impacted by these calamities.

The President instructed emergency management agencies to conduct a thorough assessment of both incidents to identify and address the underlying issues that led to these disasters.

He also directed these agencies to collaborate with the Zamfara State Government to assist the affected individuals and families.
