President Bola Tinubu has addressed the ongoing electricity crisis affecting northern Nigeria, which has been attributed to vandalism and has significantly disrupted daily life and business activities in the region.

The President instructed Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to expedite efforts to restore power in the affected areas.

According to a statement from presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, during a recent meeting, President Tinubu received updates from Minister Adelabu regarding TCN’s ongoing repairs to the severely damaged Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line.

To facilitate the repair process, the President has also directed National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to deploy security forces, including assistance from the Army and Air Force, to ensure the safety of engineers working on these critical repairs.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has called on traditional rulers and community members to collaborate in safeguarding public infrastructure.
