On Friday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, issued a stark forecast regarding President Bola Tinubu’s chances for a second term, suggesting uncertainty looms over his political future.

In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele pointed to the North’s growing discontent, warning that northern leaders are poised to challenge Tinubu’s presidency as the 2027 elections approach. He indicated that a political upheaval might be brewing, aimed at unseating the current administration.

The prophet foresees multiple developments that could cast a shadow over Tinubu’s government, potentially leading to escalating tensions that might result in a ‘technical separation’ from the North. However, he dismissed the prospect of a military coup, asserting that such an event is unlikely to occur in Nigeria again.

Ayodele stated, “The northern factions will continue to unite against Tinubu, complicating his path to 2027, and they may attempt to orchestrate a political coup. Discontent among northerners could reach a breaking point before 2027, resulting in a wave of events that diminish the popularity of this government.”

He cautioned that if the situation deteriorates further, it could create significant discord that might threaten national unity. “Nevertheless, I firmly believe there will be no military coup in Nigeria; any such plans are destined to fail. God does not support coups, but there are challenges related to ethnic tensions and religious intolerance that need addressing.”

Primate Ayodele urged northern leaders to approach their grievances with a more conciliatory attitude, emphasizing that their opposition to Tinubu’s policies may stem from a lack of understanding.

“It’s crucial for northerners to express their concerns delicately. The reasons for opposing Tinubu may not be clear to them, and escalating conflicts will only complicate matters further,” heconcluded.
