Rangers International of Enugu have won the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following their 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance.
Played at the Nnamdi azikiwe stadium ,Enugu, Rangers were declared league champions after closest rivals Remo Stars and Enyimba Football Club of Aba dropped points.
Remo Stars were defeated by Sunshine Stars of Akure thanks to a 2-1 victory at the Akure township stadium.
Enyimba International Football Club were also humbled to a 2-1 defeat by Sporting Lagos, giving Rangers the all go for the title.
The win for Rangers International takes them to 67 points with just a game to go as closest challengers, Remo Stars are second with 62 points, mathematically putting them off the ladder for the title.
Enyimba who sits third are 60 points, seven points short of league leaders who have been now declared champions with a match to go.
Rangers ran away with a 2-0 victory, thanks to Kenechukwu Augustine Agu and Chidiebere Nwobodo who secured the victory with a subsequent league title.
