The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the opening of its online portals for school recognition and the upload of Continuous Assessment Scores (CASS) for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). This move is aimed at streamlining the process and ensuring a smooth execution of the upcoming examination.
Schools wishing to participate in the 2025 WASSCE must complete both the recognition process and CASS data upload before the specified deadlines. The school recognition portal opens on September 2, 2024, and closes on December 13, 2024, while the CASS upload portal opens on September 2, 2024, and closes on December 20, 2024.
New schools seeking approval to participate in the 2025 WASSCE must make the necessary payments, complete the application process through the online portal, and finish all requirements by December 13, 2024. Schools presenting candidates for the 2025 WASSCE must access the CASS upload portal, upload CASS 1 & 2 data for their candidates, and complete the upload process by December 20, 2024.
WAEC emphasized the importance of meeting these deadlines, stating that the portals will automatically close at midnight on the due dates, and no requests will be considered after the closure of the portals.
The school recognition process ensures that schools meet the necessary standards and requirements set by WAEC, while the CASS data represents a portion of the final grade and reflects students’ performance throughout the academic year.
WAEC advised schools to start the recognition or CASS upload process early, double-check the information for accuracy and completeness, and meet deadlines strictly to avoid disqualification.
The council’s use of online portals for these crucial processes demonstrates its commitment to embracing technology and improving efficiency in exam administration. Schools are advised to take note of these dates and requirements to guarantee their participation in the upcoming examination. Timely completion of these processes will help avoid any potential issues that could affect their student’s ability to take the WASSCE in 2025.
