Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, has addressed the wildest rumor he has encountered about himself. According to the ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker, the most bizarre claim he’s seen circulating online is that he is a “devil worshiper.”
During a recent appearance on the ‘Kids Take Over’ podcast, Rema was asked, “What’s the most crazy, untrue thing that you’ve seen online about you?”
Rema replied with a laugh, saying, “They say I worship the devil. It’s crazy. I didn’t respond to it because it is not important. It’s a waste of time.”
The artist went on to explain that the symbols he incorporates into his artistic expression are part of his Edo heritage and have no connection to anything satanic.
Rema also touched on his past collaboration with Canadian superstar Drake in 2020, for a song titled ‘Mention Me,’ which unfortunately leaked before its official release.
Speaking on the experience, Rema shared his excitement, stating, “I’m happy to work with a legend like Drake. I feel like we are going to make a very huge song if we take our time to build something very strong.”
Rema continues to rise as one of Nigeria’s brightest stars, while dispelling baseless claims along the way.
