As Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema captivated audiences at Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring-Summer Show during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday, his global hit ‘Calm Down’ was garnering accolades at the 2024 ASCAP London Music Awards.

‘Calm Down’ clinched the prestigious Song of the Year and Top Streaming Song awards.

The song’s co-writers and co-producers, Michael Hunter, known as London, and Andre Vibez were also recognized for their contributions. These wins increase Rema’s American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) awards tally to three, making him the Nigerian/African artist with the most ASCAP awards.

Rema stands as the most awarded African artist in 2024, having won six awards so far.

His accolades include 1 Trends Award in Brazil, 1 iHeartRadio Music Award, 1 ASCAP Pop Music Award, and 2 ASCAP London Music Awards.
