A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has issued an ex parte order preventing the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from proceeding with its planned Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses.

The congresses were scheduled for October 11, 16, and 26, 2024, under the direction of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Secretary Surajudeen Ojibola-Basiru.

The lawsuit, brought forward by Peter Ohochukwu and Haija Ndidi-Chukwuma on behalf of themselves and other elected executive members of the APC in Rivers State, led to the court’s decision.
