A police officer assigned to HRH Cornwell Ihunwo, the chief of the Rumu-Elechi community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was kidnapped. This incident was reported by Godstime Ihunwo, a senior member of the Diobu Vigilante group and the Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu-Orowurokwo.

Godstime Ihunwo recounted that he received a call about the kidnapping around 9 PM on Saturday. The kidnappers had initially intended to abduct the traditional ruler but ended up taking the police orderly and the driver instead.

Upon learning of the abduction, Godstime immediately went to the monarch’s residence on Eagle Island in Port Harcourt. There, Chief Cornwell Ihunwo confirmed that his police orderly and driver had been taken by the kidnappers.

Godstime expressed strong disapproval of the attempted abduction of the monarch and urged the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

When reached for comments, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, verified the incident. She mentioned that the case has been handed over to the Octopus Strike Force Police unit for further investigation.
