Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has opened his goal scoring account after helping his side beat Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town.

Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal of the game in the 65th minute after assisting Diego Jota in the 60th minute for the opener.

On 22 June 2017, Salah agreed a transfer to the Premier League club in a long-term contract with the Reds for an initial £36.5m fee that could rise to £43m.

The fee was a club record, eclipsing the £35m spent on Andy Carroll in 2011.

In the 2023/24 football season, Salah scored 18 league goals while providing 10 assists, his team’s highest goal scorer.

He has opened his account for the new season after returning with a new hairstyle.
