Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to affordable housing on Friday by unveiling a new 170-unit housing project in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The project, located at Raymond Estate and Sterling Heights, is a collaborative effort involving the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA administration led by Mayor Dele Oshinowo, Osita Homes, and Sterling Bank.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the project is part of a broader strategy to maintain Lagos’s development trajectory across key sectors including housing, healthcare, education, tourism, and transportation.
He commended Mayor Oshinowo for his dedication to governance and the progressive development of the LCDA, highlighting that the local government and council areas are functioning effectively to deliver democratic benefits to residents.
In his welcome address, Mayor Oshinowo expressed gratitude for the support from Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
He detailed how the housing initiative, led by the Agboyi-Ketu Properties and Investment Board in partnership with the private sector, aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing affordable, accessible, and quality housing to address the state’s housing deficit.
Oshinowo noted that the project reflects the T.H.E.M.E.S PLUS Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration, emphasizing infrastructure development as a key strategy to enhance human capital and stimulate economic growth.
He also highlighted that the initiative is designed to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and demonstrate that effective governance at the grassroots level is achievable in Nigeria.
“This initiative not only showcases Agboyi-Ketu but also aims to bolster our IGR, reflecting our commitment to delivering good governance and improving living standards in the LCDA,” Oshinowo stated.
