Mrs. Susan Gbemisola Alabi, who was the deputy governorship candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, has made the decision to switch allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Her move follows her resignation from the SDP, which she attributed to “irreconcilable differences” with the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the APC candidate in the upcoming November 16 governorship election, warmly welcomed Mrs. Alabi into the party during a campaign event in Akoko North West Local Government Area.

In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa reassured the community that the 2025 budget would be meticulously crafted to ensure that all regions within Ondo State would reap the benefits of development initiatives. “The 2025 budget will be designed to ensure that every part of Ondo State experiences growth and improvements,” he stated, highlighting the focus on infrastructure and essential services in Akoko North West.

He also expressed his appreciation for the backing of local traditional rulers, who have shown their support for him during both the APC primaries and the forthcoming election.

Representing 27 traditional leaders from the area, the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, pledged their steadfast support and assured strong voter turnout for the APC.

During the gathering in Oke Irun, Aiyedatiwa called on party supporters to stay united and actively work towards securing a victory for the APC. He noted that his campaign’s journey through key areas within the local government allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the community’s needs.

The celebratory spirit continued in Oke Agbe, the local government headquarters, where Aiyedatiwa reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing critical issues such as security, infrastructure, and agriculture, assuring residents that their voices would shape future planning.
