A secondary school student was apprehended today with multiple stolen phones shortly after school hours. The incident occurred in the community of Sagamu.
The student, whose name is being withheld due to his age, was reportedly acting suspiciously when a concerned citizen alerted the authorities.
Upon investigation, the police found him in possession of several mobile phones, which were later confirmed to have been stolen from teachers.
The school’s principal, Mr. Adeeko, expressed his disappointment and concern over the incident. “It’s disheartening to see a student involved in such activities. We strive to provide a safe and conducive environment for learning” he said.
Local authorities have commended the swift action taken by the school’s staff and the vigilant community member who reported the suspicious behavior.
The police are currently conducting further investigations to determine if the student acted alone or if there is a larger network involved.
In the meantime, the school has announced plans to enhance security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. Parents are also urged to educate their children on the importance of honesty and the consequences of theft.
