Tragedy struck today in a secondary school in Osun State, as a group of students reportedly beat their school prefect after he punished them for arriving late to school. The name of the school has been withheld for security reasons.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred during the school’s morning assembly when the senior prefect, known for his strict adherence to school rules, sanctioned a group of boys for tardiness. The punishment reportedly angered the students, who later confronted him during break time.
The situation escalated quickly as the boys allegedly attacked the prefect in a violent altercation that left him critically injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
