The National Assembly Commission has announced the appointment of Mr Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as the new Clerk of the Senate. His appointment is set to take effect on December 11, 2024.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Commission revealed that Nwoba’s appointment was approved during a meeting held on December 4, 2024. The announcement was signed by the Deputy Director of Information, Mr. Emmanuel N. Anyigor.
The statement also disclosed a series of promotions and redeployments within the National Assembly bureaucracy.
Mr. Emmanuel Oda has been appointed Deputy Clerk (Administration), Senate, while Vivien N. Njemanze takes the position of Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives. Dr. Obasi D. Ukoha has been named Secretary of the Directorate of Legislative Budget and Planning.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rawlings Agada has been redeployed from Deputy Clerk (Administration), Senate, to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), Senate. Similarly, Florence Kehinde A. has been reassigned from Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives, to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), House of Representatives.
The Commission also confirmed earlier appointments, including Ogundayo Mofoluwake Olufunmilayo as Secretary of the Directorate of Special Duties, Alkali Umar Abubakar as Secretary of the Directorate of Human Resource & Staff Development, and Essien Eyo Essien as Secretary of the Directorate of Zonal Liaison Offices.
