Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has voiced his profound sorrow over the passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented Anambra South and served as the Chairman and CEO of Capital Oil and Gas.

Bamidele, representing Ekiti Central, emphasized that Ubah’s dedication to his constituents and the broader Anambra region signifies a significant loss for the South-East geopolitical zone, referring to him as an “illustrious and determined son.”

In a statement released by his Directorate of Media and Public Affairs on Saturday, Bamidele honored Ubah as a philanthropist and influential businessman who was deeply committed to the advancement of his community, particularly for the youth.

The senator highlighted Ubah’s proactive stance during a time of insecurity in the South-East, noting his efforts to organize local vigilante groups to combat security challenges within his senatorial district and beyond.

The statement included, “The news of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s passing has filled me with grief. Up until his last moments, he was a notable entrepreneur, the founder of the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas, and most importantly, a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Bamidele further remarked on Ubah’s unwavering commitment to alleviating poverty in his community, describing him as a savvy businessman with a significant impact on the younger generation.

“He had shared his political aspirations and plans for the people of Anambra State and the South-East. While we were eager to see his vision come to fruition, it is with great sorrow that we acknowledge that God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, has called him home.”

He continued, “Though we are grieving deeply, we must accept that the timing is deemed right by God. We cannot question His decision to take him at a time when he was still fervently working for the betterment of his constituents.”

Bamidele also recognized Ubah’s valuable contributions to nation-building during these challenging times, stating that he collaborated with colleagues across various ethnic, political, and religious backgrounds to foster a more effective and functional federation.
