Senate President Godswill Akpabio has encouraged his Spokesman, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, and his family to uphold the admirable legacy of their late mother, Mrs. Grace Eyiboh.
This appeal was made during Mrs. Eyiboh’s funeral service held in Akpautong, located in the Esit Eket Local Government Area.
Akpabio, who was represented by Yemi Adaramodu, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, praised the deceased as a woman of great virtue and empathy.
He noted that Mrs. Eyiboh, who passed away at the age of 90, left a profound impact on her children and the community, setting an example for others to follow.
“While she lived a long life, the passing of such a nurturing mother brings deep sorrow, especially as the cherished memories of her love and the bond you shared come to the forefront,” Akpabio reflected.
“She had a remarkable journey filled with hope and faith. As a savvy entrepreneur, she utilized her wealth to assist her husband in providing for their children’s education.”
He further remarked, “The accomplishments you have achieved are a testament to her excellent upbringing. Remember, what you instill in today’s youth shapes tomorrow’s leaders.”
In his tribute, Governor Umo Eno characterized the late Eyiboh as a representation of resourcefulness and virtue.
Speaking through his Political Adviser, Mr. Godwin Ntukudeh, Eno expressed that Akwa Ibom would profoundly miss her contributions, highlighting her role in empowering young women through tailoring, helping them achieve self-sufficiency.
The funeral was attended by family associates and notable members of the political community in Akwa Ibom.
