Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, attributing the choice to Wike’s exceptional work ethic and sense of responsibility.
Speaking during the launch of a book commemorating Wike’s 57th birthday in Port Harcourt, Akpabio referred to Wike as a dedicated workaholic, emphasizing that he is recognized for consistently giving his all in any role he undertakes.
While addressing Wike at the celebration, Akpabio remarked, “Allow me to explain why President Tinubu nominated you for the Federal Executive Council (FEC), even though you hail from an opposition party.”
“Your impressive track record as a local government chairman, Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government, Minister, and two-term governor has equipped you for this role,” the Senate President stated.
He further acknowledged that, despite being part of the opposition, Wike has made significant contributions to Tinubu’s administration.
“You have transformed Abuja into a model city that reflects the dignity of our nation’s capital. Your commitment to public service leaves no room for excuses when it comes to fulfilling your duties,” Akpabio added.
“In less than two years, you have turned Abuja into a thriving construction hub,” he concluded, praising Wike’s accomplishments.
