Senator Adolphus Wabara, the former Senate President and current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, has lauded the PDP Governors for their unwavering support of Governor Siminalayi Fubara during the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State.

Wabara commended the Governors for their courageous stance against anti-democratic elements and their dedication to fostering a peaceful resolution alongside good governance. He emphasized that the collective stance taken by the PDP Governors’ Forum regarding the crisis in Rivers and other national matters reflects the party’s cohesive front.

“I wholeheartedly commend the PDP Governors for their unified voice and solidarity with one of their own. This sends a powerful message that the PDP stands united and remains steadfast in its commitment to defending democracy,” Wabara remarked.

Additionally, the former Senate President condemned any notion that a sitting Governor could be manipulated for ulterior motives, labeling such thoughts as “provocative, undemocratic, and unacceptable.”

He also voiced strong opposition to proposals for imposing emergency rule in Rivers State, cautioning that mishandling the situation could lead to broader national instability. Wabara advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disregard those attempting to seize power through underhanded means.

It is noteworthy that the PDP Governors’ Forum recently convened in Enugu, where they reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Governor Fubara amid the ongoing crisis.

“The Forum has resolved to stand firmly by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, while also engaging in broader consultations with stakeholders to achieve a peaceful resolution and find a sustainable solution to the crises,” stated the forum’s Chairman, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, in a formal announcement.
