Nigeria’s economic difficulties are on the verge of resolution, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima, who made this assertion during a brief visit to Nasarawa State. Shettima attributed his optimism to ongoing economic reforms and anticipated agricultural yields, stating that the federal government remains committed to supporting regional governments in their recovery efforts.
During his address to Governor Abdullahi Sule and attendees at the Government House in Lafia, Shettima remarked, “We will continue to stand by you.” He emphasized that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the federal government is dedicated to providing necessary assistance to help the nation overcome its challenges. “Fortunately, we have crossed a pivotal point and are now on the road to sustainable growth. I believe the most challenging times are behind us. The economy is beginning to improve, and by God’s grace, we expect a fruitful agricultural season ahead.”
Senator Shettima also commended Governor Sule’s peace initiatives, which have significantly contributed to governance and agricultural progress in the state. He stated, “Development cannot exist without peace, and peace cannot thrive in the absence of development. The people of Nasarawa may not fully appreciate the efforts of a leader until they are no longer in office.
Nasarawa is a vibrant tapestry, embodying the diversity of Nigeria with its various ethnic groups and religions coexisting harmoniously due to the exemplary leadership provided here. We express our gratitude to God for the peace and harmony we enjoy in Nasarawa and for the remarkable achievements in the state. Nasarawa stands as an agricultural powerhouse, capable of feeding the entire nation while also being rich in solid minerals.”
Earlier, Governor Sule assured that he would continue to prioritize agricultural development. He mentioned that farming initiatives are expanding into local councils to involve them in the federal government’s food security programs. “Mr. Vice President, I assure you that by your next visit, you will not only witness the rice produced by the state government but also that from the local government areas,” he vowed.
