The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, has apprehended three individuals, including an ex-convict, for vandalizing and stealing transformer cables in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, May 29, by Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander of the Corps, and signed by Moruf Yusuf, the Director of Information and Public Relations, the suspects were arrested on Sunday, May 26, at approximately 5:30 am. The arrest was made by a patrol team led by Chief Superintendent of Corps, Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq.

The statement detailed that the suspects, identified as Eze Sunday (an ex-convict), Eze Charles, and Jamilu Danjuma, were caught in the act of vandalizing transformer cables. Upon interrogation, the trio confessed to their crimes. They also revealed the identity of a third accomplice, who was the receiver of the stolen copper wires.

The recovered items, which included burnt and separated copper wires, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Idiroko Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution.

In the statement, the So-Safe Corps emphasized their dedication to combating vandalism and theft in Ogun State. “This arrest underscores our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Ogun State citizens. We will continue to work tirelessly to protect our community from such criminal activities,” it concluded.
