The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed the House’s commitment to thoughtfully evaluating the Tax Reform Bills introduced by the Executive branch of the Federal Government, emphasizing their significance for the Nigerian populace.

Speaking at ‘The People’s House Interactive Session on Tax Reform Bills’ in Abuja on Monday, the Speaker acknowledged the debates surrounding these bills as indicative of their vital importance, asserting that such discussions are essential and beneficial in a democratic society.

He highlighted that the purpose of the session was to transform these discussions into constructive outcomes, underscoring the importance of considering varied viewpoints, posing critical questions, and clarifying any ambiguous sections of the proposed legislation.

Tajudeen elaborated that the tax bills are crucial proposals aimed at broadening Nigeria’s tax base, enhancing compliance, and creating sustainable revenue sources for the nation’s progress.
