The Super Falcons of Nigeria in an international friendly in Angers fell to a 2-1 defeat to France on Saturday night.
France scored two early goals to gift their side a two-goal caution against their West African opponents with strikes from Le Sommer (29) and Majri (37).
Nigeria brought themselves into the game when they halved the deficit in the extra time of the first 45 minutes, thanks to Onumonu’s strike.
The second half was a game of masterclass from Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie who made eight saves from ten shots she faced to prevent further damage to the team.
Nnadozie who captained the side saw the likes of Atletico’s Rasheedat Ajibade and Asisat Oshoala missing in the game but the available players played out their heart to the team as they showed their own class against one of the heavyweights in world female football.
