American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 Presidential Election.

In a post shared on her Instagram on Wednesday, Swift expressed her support for Harris following the presidential debate held the previous night between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Harris.

Swift confirmed that she would be voting for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, citing their alignment with the values she holds dear. According to Swift, Harris fights for rights and causes that she believes require a strong champion.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote.

She added that Harris is a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and that she believes the country could achieve more with Harris at the helm, emphasizing the need for calm leadership over chaos.

Swift also praised Walz, stating, “I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Encouraging her followers to do their research, Swift added, “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.” She also reminded her fans, especially first-time voters, to register and emphasized the ease of early voting.

Swift’s endorsement adds to the growing celebrity involvement in political activism ahead of the 2024 election.
