A 46-year-old teacher at Maguya Day Secondary School in Chipata District, Zambia, has reportedly taken his own life by ingesting an unidentified poisonous substance.
Panford Mweetwa, who had recently been transferred from Nsanjika Day Secondary School to Maguya, left behind a note stating that “he had been working very hard but had nothing to show for what he had achieved.”
The note also detailed how his money should be distributed.
Mweetwa was initially taken to Katandala Clinic for treatment but was later referred to another hospital where he was admitted.

While receiving treatment, he disclosed that he had consumed an unknown poisonous liquid with the intent to end his life. Unfortunately, he passed away the same day.
His body remains in the mortuary awaiting burial.
